While not my beat I covered a black tie event honoring the late Boston Red Sox star Tony Conigliaro. As luck would have it I got up close with Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Bobby Orr and others. A TV cameraman whacked me in the head because I got in the way of his shot. I was seeing stars that night.
